朱蕉屬常綠灌木，是朱蕉的園藝栽培種。具發達的地下莖；莖直立，少分枝，有明顯葉痕。單葉互生或螺旋排列叢生於莖頂，長條形葉；葉紅褐色，葉面平滑有光澤。圓錐花序腋生，花紫紅色。球形漿果，熟果紅色。

An evergreen shrub in the genus Cordyline. It’s a horticultural cultivar of Cordyline fruticosa. Underground stems well-developed; stems erect, less branched, with obvious leaf marks. Single leaves alternate or spirally tufted at the top of the stem, long linear; reddish brown, smooth and shiny. Panicles axillary, flowers purplish red. Berries spherical, ripe red.

全日照或半日照皆可，光照與低溫作用會讓新葉的顏色鮮明。喜高溫多濕，於介質肥沃疏鬆生長良好，也可水耕栽培。以種子或扦插繁殖。
