大戟屬多肉質灌木，莖直立多分枝，株高可達5m。莖直徑約5至7cm，肥厚多肉，具3~4稜，表面光滑有白色和灰綠色大理石狀花紋。傷口會泌出白色乳汁。互生橢圓形葉，直徑0.3~0.4cm，只短暫存在嫩莖上。稜上有刺成對，長0.2~0.6cm。花黃綠色，園藝栽培罕見開花。

A succulent shrub in the genus Euphorbia, with erect stems and multiple branches and a plant height of 5m. The stem is about 5 to 7 cm in diameter, thick and fleshy, ribbed 3 to 4, surface smooth with white and gray-green marble-like patterns. White latex secreted from the wounds. Leaves alternate, ovate, 0.3-0.4 cm in diameter, briefly borne on the new shoots. Spines in pairs on the ribs, 0.2-0.6 cm in length. Flowers yellow-green, cultivars are rarely flowering.

栽培：全日照通風環境下可生長良好。高溫生長期可觀察介質乾就澆水。介質須排水良好，可在砂質壤土或於培養土中混入粗砂、細石等材料以增加重量支撐植物。因為莖質地較軟，露地栽培須注意颱風吹襲，必要時立支柱支撐。

This plants thrive in full sun and airy conditions. Water when the soil appears dry in the warm growing seasons. The plant prefers well-draining soils mixed with coarse sand and fine stone and others in the sandy loam or the culture soil to add weight to support the plants. Be careful with the soft stem, protect it from strong wind for open field cultivation, and if necessary, put up stakes to support it.

園藝栽培以綴化種與石化種為主，這是生長點變異的園藝品種，使植株成會扇狀或山峰狀，如此增加觀賞價值。另有莖變白色的白化品種，更富趣味性。

Cristation and monstrosus are the main horticultural cultivars with growing point variation which make the plants resemble fan or mountain to add ornamental value. There are also albino variants produce whitening stems to add interests.
