鷹爪草屬多肉植物，原產南非。葉片緊密呈蓮座狀排列，直徑3~10cm。葉肉質，倒卵形至匙形葉，長2~5cm，寬2cm，厚約0.5cm，尖端細長狀；葉色翠綠，葉面有暗綠色條紋；葉片前端部透明，園藝上稱為「窗」。在原產地植株幾乎被沙土覆蓋，僅露出葉先的「窗」讓光線透入葉片內行光合作用。總狀花序，花白綠色有淺粉紅色條紋。

A succulent plant of the genus Haworthia, native to South Africa. Leaves closely arranged in a rosette, with a diameter of 3-10 cm. Leaves fleshy, obovate to spoon-shaped, 2-5 cm long, 2 cm wide, and 0.5 cm thick, with slender leaf tip; green, with dark green stripes on the upper surface. the apical region of it leaves is transparent which is called "window" in gardening. In the original habitat, the plant is almost buried by sand, only the "windows" of the leaf tip are emerged which allows light to penetrate the leaves for photosynthesis. Racemes, flowers white-green with pale pink stripes.

栽培：半日照通風環境下可生長良好，要避免陽光曝曬。高溫期休眠應節水，低溫期生長可觀察介質乾就澆水。寶草易生長側芽，繁殖可選擇側芽繁殖，也可選擇葉插；葉插掰取葉片時應完整取下，勿從葉身折斷。

The plant thrives in partial sun and airy conditions, but not full direct sun. The plant goes dormant in hot months and needs less water use; on the contrary, frequent water use is required when the soil appears dry in winter growing period. The plant produces suckers easily which can be replanted for propagation. For leaf cuttings propagation, the leaves should be removed completely and avoid breaking it.

葉片翠嫩瑩綠，是受歡迎的小型多肉植物。品種繁多，有各種葉型與「窗」大小的變化，常吸引愛好者收集。適合用2~3吋的盆栽種植或多株群植組合設計。
