龍舌蘭屬的多年生多肉植物，原產於墨西哥。具有肉質的大型葉片，叢狀集生於短且直立的莖上；葉片可多達50枚，葉緣與葉片先端有銳刺。要栽培10數年後才會開花。花梗上能萌生許多幼小芽體，待芽體生出數枚葉片後可剪下栽培成新植株

A perennial succulent plant of the genus Agave, native to Mexico. Large fleshy leaves as many as 50 borne in clumps on the short and erect stems, with sharp teeth on the margin and pointed spines on the apex. It usually takes 10 years to flower. Multiple buds produced on the pedicles can be cut down and cultivated as a new plant after the buds give out several leaves.

栽培：全日照通風環境下生長良好。根系強健，排水良好的介質均可生長。盆栽可觀察介質乾才澆水，露地栽培則幾乎不必澆水。每年春季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。繁殖使用分株法為主。

The plant grows well under full sunlight and ventilated environment. With sturdy root system, it can adapt all types of well-draining soil. If planted in pots, water only when the soil appears dry. Apply a long-active comprehensive fertilizer once in spring. Propagated mainly by ramets.

葉片排列規律均整，全株有如藝術品般美觀。因為葉尖銳刺具有危險性，栽培位置須選擇幼童與寵物不易碰觸的地方。通常單盆種植觀賞或於造園景觀上使用。
