蔓綠絨屬多年生草本，原產南美洲北部至巴西北部熱帶雨林。地生或附生，以不定根吸附攀爬。葉片蓮座狀排列。葉柄基部有褐色纖維。橢圓形至長卵形葉，長40~50cm、寬25~30cm，有8~9條明顯的側脈，葉色黃綠、中肋或帶淺紅色。佛焰苞外側深綠內側白色。

A perennial herb in the genus Philodendron, native to the tropical rain forests of northern South America and stretching to northern Brazil. Terrestrial or epiphyte, climbing with adventitious roots. Leaves arranged in rosettes, with brown fibers at the base of the petiole. Leaves oval to long ovate, 40-50cm long and 25-30cm wide, with 8-9 distinct lateral veins. Leaf yellow-green and mid rib reddish. Spathe dark green on the outside and white on the inside.

半日照溫暖環境，全日照下需經馴化適應，否則會曬傷。介質使用排水良好的砂質壤土或培養土，植株大型，介質或盆器需有一定重量以免傾倒。介質乾就澆水。春季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。播種法繁殖。

The plant prefers warm and partial-sun environments and needs to be acclimated to prevent sunburn if cultivated in full-sun positions. Use well-drained sandy loam or culture soil as the medium. This large-sized plant requires a certain weight of soil or container to avoid toppling over. Water once the medium is dry. Apply a slow-release compound fertilizer once in spring. Propagated from seeds.
