金狗毛蕨屬多年生草本，廣布亞洲東南部及東南亞熱帶及亞熱帶氣候區。地生或岩生。具粗大走莖及葉柄，密生金黃色毛。葉片叢生，三回羽狀深裂，葉長可達3m，小羽片長可達15cm，寬可達1.5cm。孢子囊群著生於末裂片兩側邊緣，每邊1至2個，具革質蚌殼狀的孢膜。

A perennial herb in the genus Cibotium, widely distributed in Southeast Asia and tropical and subtropical zones of Southeast Asia. Terrestrial or lithophytic. Both stems and petioles are thick and covered with dense golden hairs. Leaves clustered, tri-pinnate with deep lobes, the frond can reach 3m long and the pinna can reach 15cm long and 1.5cm wide. Sori borne along the edges of both sides of the terminal lobes, with 1 to 2 on each side, with a leathery and clam shell-like indusium.

全日照或半日照溫暖環境，壤土或砂質壤土種植。介質乾或觀察葉片略凋萎就澆水。每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。老化葉片隨時修剪。播孢子繁殖。

The plant thrives in full-sun or partial-sun, warm conditions and loam or sandy loam. Water the soil when it slightly dries or the leaves show a sigh of wilting. Apply a slow-release compound fertilizer once a season. Prune aging fronds at any time. Propagated by spores.

昔日民間使用莖及葉柄上的金毛作為創傷止血材料。市場上以去除葉片只保留葉柄與莖的盆栽作為觀賞用，形似金絲猴或金毛狗。大型的葉片適合作為自然生態情境或熱帶雨林風情的造景使用。
