花燭屬多年生草本，原產中美洲至南美洲北部。地生或附生。莖短縮，有發達的氣生根。葉蓮座狀排列，革質倒披針形至橢圓形，長25~90cm，寬10~25cm，葉緣波浪狀。綠色佛焰苞卵形，淺褐色肉穗花序粗壯，種子紅色。開花期夏至秋季。

A perennial herb in the genus Anthurium, native to the areas from Central America to northern South America. Terrestrial or epiphyte. Stems shortened with well-developed aerial roots. Leaves arranged in rosettes, leathery oblanceolate to oval in shape, 25~90cm long,10~25cm wide, and with undulated margins. Spathe green and oval, spadix sturdy and light brown. Seeds red. Flowering from summer to autumn.

半日照溫暖環境。介質使用排水良好的培養土或椰纖，混入椰塊或樹皮，以形成排水透氣良好的狀態，促進根部生長。略具耐旱性，介質乾才澆水，春至秋每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。繁殖使用播種法為主。

Slightly drought-tolerant, water only when the medium is dry. Apply a slow-release compound fertilizer once every season from spring to autumn. Propagated mainly from seeds.
