腎蕨屬多年生草本，廣布全球熱帶至溫帶氣候區。附生或地生。有短莖與匍匐莖。一回羽狀複葉，叢生於短莖上，葉常下垂生長。葉柄基部有黑褐色鱗片，葉片1~2m，寬10~25cm，長披針形羽片，長8~18cm、寬1.5~2cm，邊緣略呈鋸齒緣。孢子囊堆圓形，孢膜圓腎形。

A perennial herb in the genus Nephrolepis, widely distributed in tropical to temperate climate regions of the world. Epiphyte or terrestrial, with short stems and stolons. Fronds unipennate compound, clustered on the short stems, and often drooping. Dark brown scales grown on petiole base. Frond 1~2m wide and 10~25cm long. Pinna lanceolate, 8~18cm long, 1.5~2cm wide, margin slightly serrated. Sori round, with kidney-shaped indusium.

半日照溫暖環境，高濕度可以促進生長。自然環境常附生於岩壁、樹幹、棕櫚科植物葉鞘中，人工栽培可用培養土為介質，使用吊盆懸掛種植，以利葉片下垂伸展。介質略乾就澆水。每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。繁殖使用分株法。

The plant does best in partial-sun and warm conditions, high moisture can promote the growth. In the wild, it’s often epiphytic on rock walls, tree trunks, and palm frond sheaths. In horticultural cultivation, it can grow in culture soil and hanging pots to allow the fronds to droop and elongate. Water once the soil slightly dries. Apply a slow-release compound fertilizer once a season. Propagated by division.

懸垂的葉片疏落有緻，懸掛栽培可欣賞隨風搖曳的葉片帶來清涼綠意。懸掛栽培的盆器直徑大於30cm，懸吊高度2~3m，才有利於植株生長旺盛，觀賞效果更好。也可以種植於植生牆上，模擬自然生態的情境。

The drooping fronds present a sparse and graceful posture, suitable for hanging cultivation to admire the fronds swaying with the wind. It’s suggested to use big containers over 30cm in diameter, and hang the planter in 2~3m above the ground to facilitate the vigorous growth and obtain the better viewing effect. It can also be planted on vertical gardens to simulate natural ecological sceneries.
