原產喜瑪拉雅山及東亞溫帶氣候區，臺灣中海拔山區亦有分佈。地生蘭。卵形假球莖，長1~2.5cm，寬1~1.5cm，其上生長4~7片葉，帶形葉長20~60cm、寬0.5~1cm。單朵花從假球莖基部外側葉腋抽出，高3~15cm，花色綠至淡褐黃色有紫褐色脈紋，有芳香，開花期春季。栽培歷史悠久，園藝品種繁多，花形花色與葉片造型、斑紋有各種變化。

The terrestrial orchid is native to the Himalayas and the temperate zone of East Asia, also distributed in the mid-altitude mountains of Taiwan. 半日照溫暖至冷涼環境，忌曝曬酷熱。盆器使用比例深窄的蕙蘭專用盆，介質使用顆粒土混合細樹皮、細石、水苔、腐葉土等粗材料以求透氣與排水良好。介質略乾才澆水。每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。繁殖使用分株法。
