金線蓮屬多年生草本，臺灣特有種。分布全臺灣海拔500~1800m的林地，生長環境遮陽、涼爽的腐葉土中。屬地生蘭。肉質莖匍匐。卵形或卵圓形葉，長2.5~4cm，寬2.5~3.5cm，葉面深綠色有絨狀質感，有堇金屬反光的網脈，葉背淺紫紅色。總狀花序，花白色，唇瓣末端分岔呈Y字型，兩側有黃色鬚狀物。夏秋之際開花。

A perennial herb in the genus Anoectochilus, endemic to Taiwan, distributed in woodlands with an altitude of 500~1800m all over Taiwan, grown in shady humus-rich forest floor. A terrestrial orchid. Fleshy stem creeping. Leaves oval or ovoid, 2.5~4cm long, 2.5~3.5cm wide, dark green with a velvety texture, net veins metallic and pansy-like, light purple-red back. Raceme, flowers white, the end of labellum bifurcated in Y shape, with yellow whiskers on both sides. Flowering in summer and autumn.

半日照冷涼環境，高濕度可以促進生長。栽培介質使用培養土或水苔。介質略乾就澆水。每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料，切不可過量，以免傷根。繁殖使用扦插與無菌播種法。

The thrives in partial-sun and cool environments, and high moisture can promote the growth. Use culture soil or sphagnum moss as the medium and water once the medium slightly dry. Apply a slow-release compound fertilizer once a season, excessive fertilization may damage the roots. Propagation by cuttings and aseptic seedings.

絨布質感的葉片上有繡金絲線斑的葉脈，具有很高的觀賞價值，適合作為小盆栽欣賞，種植於半密閉的玻璃容器內提供高濕度，對生長更有利。金線蓮傳統作為草藥使用，經研究證實對於增強學習記憶力、抗氧化作用、降高血糖、高血脂及抗組織脂肪過多症、保護肝臟、免疫調節作用、抗發炎及抗過敏等有功效，已經開發為養生保健產品。
