腎蕨屬的多年生植物，原產於熱帶亞洲及非洲。走莖先端向外伸展後接觸介質會長出叢生芽。葉叢生，淡綠色，自根莖上長出，一回羽狀複葉，葉柄短，小羽片披針形。葉片柔軟垂墜，最長可達到2m以上。

A perennial herb in the genus, in the genus Nephrolepis, native to tropical America, Oceania and Africa. The stolons produce clumped shoots after the apex spreading and contacting the medium. Leaves clumped, pale green, occurring from rhizomes, pinnately compound, with short petioles; small pinnae lanceolate, soft and draping, more than 2 m long.

半日照環境下可生長良好，喜歡空氣潮濕的環境。如果環境較乾燥，會影響幼葉的發育。對水分有著較為嚴格的要求，盆土不宜過分潮濕或乾燥。以分株繁殖。

The plant grows well in partial sun and prefers humid conditions as the young fronds don’t respond well to dry conditions. Soil moisture content is critical for the plant growth; the potting soil can’t be too wet or too dry. Propagated from ramets.

窗簾蕨的特點在於葉片可以垂墜得很長，像是窗簾一般。適合吊盆懸掛或種於窗邊美化用。
