鐵線蕨屬多年生草本，臺灣原生，廣泛分佈於熱帶、亞熱帶地區。根莖短小匍匐狀。葉叢生；葉柄紫黑色，長而細弱有光澤；葉薄紙質，2至3回羽狀複葉，中部以下2回羽狀；羽片互生；小羽片斜扇形或斜方形，外緣淺裂至深裂；孢子囊著生於扇形脈的淺缺刻處。

A perennial herb in the genus Adiantum, native to Taiwan and widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions. Rhizomes short and decumbent. Fronds clumped; petiole purple-black, slender and shiny; thin papery, bi- or tri-pinnately compound and bipinnate in the lower part; pinnae alternate; small pinnae obliquely fan-shaped or rhomboid, margin lobed to deep split; sori borne in the shallow incisions of the fan-shaped veins.

全日照或半日照溫暖環境，高濕度可以促進生長。介質須排水良好且富含有機質；好鹼性，可以於介質中加入適量石灰。以孢子或分株繁殖。

The plant grows in full-sun or partial-sun and warm environments and thrives in high humidity. It prefers well drained, and richly organic medium; a lover of alkaline soil, it could be done by adding lime to increase soil alkalinity. Propagated from spores or ramets.

葉片細緻美觀，可作庭園地被植物、吊盆、小品盆栽欣賞。全草可入藥，民間用於感冒發熱、袪風解熱以及各種發炎症狀。

Valued for the delicate and beautiful fronds, it’s often used as a garden groundcover, grown in a hanging basket and a small pot. The whole plant can be used as medicine to relieve cold and fever and various inflammation symptoms.
