腎蕨屬多年生草本，原產熱帶美洲、大洋洲及非洲。具許多走莖；走莖先端向外伸展於接觸介質後會長出叢生芽，無膨大之貯水塊根。葉叢生，呈淡綠色，自根莖上長出，一或二回羽狀複葉，葉柄短；小羽片披針形，有明顯波緣，厚紙質。波士頓腎蕨不會產生孢子。

A perennial herb in the genus Nephrolepis, native to tropical America, Oceania and Africa. The plant has many stolons which produce clumped shoots after spreading and contacting the medium, without swollen water storage roots. Leaves clumped, pale green, occurring from the rhizome, uni- or bi-pinnately compound, with short petiole; small pinnae lanceolate, with obvious undulation on the edge, thick papery. This fern does not produce spores.

具有很強的適應能力，能忍受貧瘠，但最適宜在土質鬆散、有肥力、腐植質豐富、透氣性好及排水通暢的中性或微酸性土壤中生長。喜歡溫暖，不能抵禦寒冷，在3~9月期間的生長適宜溫度是15~25℃，在9月至次年3月期間則是13~15℃。冬天要將植株搬進房間裡過冬，溫度控制在10~15℃便可順利過冬。以分株繁殖。

Highly adaptable and tolerant to barren soils, the plant grows best in neutral or slightly acid soil with loose texture, fertility, rich humus, good air permeability and good drainage. It likes warmth and not cold hardy; the best temperature is 15-25 °C from March to September, and 13-15 °C from September to March. Move the plant indoors in the winter and control the temperature at 10-15 °C to overwinter. Propagated from ramets.

可作庭園景觀植物、小品盆栽、吊盆、組合盆栽、造園假山岩壁點綴植物。是良好的插花材料。

It can be a garden ornamental, planted in small pots, hanging pots, or mixed planters; also used as a filler plant in a garden rockery as well as a great flower arrangement material.
