榕屬常綠喬木，原產南亞、大洋洲與澳洲北部。樹形高聳，樹高可超過20m，樹冠開展，幼株枝條柔軟。樹皮灰色；有氣生根。側枝長伸，小枝纖細下垂。互生薄革質卵形至卵狀橢圓形葉，葉長4~8cm、寬2~4cm，葉面光亮，葉緣波浪狀。隱頭花序成對或單生於葉腋，圓形或扁圓形，成熟時黃色至紅色，直徑0.8~1.5cm。開花結果期於夏至秋季。

An evergreen tree in the genus Ficus, native to South Asia, Oceania and Northern Australia. Tree height more than 20 m, canopy spreading, saplings producing soft branches. Bark gray; with aerial roots. Lateral branches elongated, twigs slender and pendulous. Leaves alternate, thin leathery, ovate to ovate oval, 4-8 cm long and 2-4 cm wide, glossy, margin undulate. Syconium in pairs or solitary in the leaf axils, round or oblate, yellow to red when mature, and 0.8 to 1.5 cm in diameter. Flowering and fruiting from summer to autumn.

適合全日照、溫暖環境，濕度高有助於生長。根系淺，基地土壤必須寬廣。枝條容易長伸，需定期修剪以抑制高度及避免颱風折損。一般不需要施肥。繁殖採用扦插與空中壓條法。

The plant is suitable for growing in full-sun and warm environments and thrives in high humidity. With a shallow root system, it needs a broad soil base to support the growth. The branches easily elongate and need regular trimming to control the height and prevent the damage from typhoon. Fertilization is generally not required. Propagated by cutting and air layering.

萌芽力強耐修剪，可修剪成各種造型種植於庭園中，亦可列植作為綠籬使用。

The strong germination nature helps it withstand pruning; it can be trimmed into various topiary shapes and displayed in gardens; or planted in rows as a green hedge.
