冷水花屬多年生草本，原產於加勒比海周圍海岸。全株有毛。肉質莖匍匐於地面，分枝性強，節處著地易生根。對生橢圓形至卵圓形葉，葉面有深刻的凹凸皺摺，葉色黃綠，有三條明顯葉脈。雌雄異株，聚繖花序頂生，花黃綠或白色。瘦果，圓卵形。

Introduction: A perennial herb, native to the coastal areas of the Caribbean Sea. The whole plant is hairy; fleshy stolons sprawl on the ground, produce many branches, and root at the nodes where stems contact soil. Leaves opposite, oval to ovate, leaf surface with deep puckers, yellow-green, with three prominent veins. Dioecious, cymes terminal, flowers yellow-green or white. Achenes round oval.

性喜高溫、多濕，全日照或半日照環境。介質以疏鬆肥沃、排水良好的腐植土為佳。以扦插、分株法繁殖。

The plant enjoys hot, moist, full-sun or partial-sun conditions. The medium is preferably loose and fertile humic soil with good drainage.Propagated from cuttings and ramets.

植株密貼且延展性佳，是良好的地被植物。葉片翠綠可愛，是小品盆栽、吊盆、組合盆栽的良材，也常用於綠牆或綠雕。

Valued for the dense foliage and easy-spreading nature, it’s a great groundcover or planted in small pots, hanging baskets, mixed planters as well as green wall and green topiary.
