刺軸櫚屬常綠喬木，原產於所羅門與萬那杜群島。單幹直立，被有老葉鞘。葉圓形或半圓形，直徑0.6~1m，通常不分裂，葉身有扇形摺痕，葉緣有鋸齒，葉柄有刺。雌雄異花，花序腋生下垂。球形核果橘紅色。
An evergreen tree in the genus Licuala, native to Solomon and Vanuatu Islands. Single stem upright, covered with old leaf sheath. Leaves circular or semi-circular, with a diameter of 0.6-1 m, usually not lobed, with fan-like creases, margin serrated, and petiole thorny. Monoecious, inflorescences drooping and axillary. Drupes spherical and orange-red.
全日照或半日照環境，喜溫暖濕潤，忌乾燥。介質要求疏鬆肥沃、排水性能良好的土壤。怕冷，種植位置需避冬季冷風。以種子繁殖。
It grows in full-sun or partial-sun environment and likes warm and humid conditions. Loose, fertile and well-drained soils are preferred. It’s not cold hardy and needs sheltered away from cold wind in winter. Propagated by seeds.
葉形特殊，可作避風處的庭園景觀植物或大型室內盆栽，幼株作小品盆栽。
Valued for the unique leaf shape, it’s a great garden ornamental in a leeward spot or a large potted houseplant. The sapling can be used as a small potted plant.
