瓶幹樹屬落葉喬木，原產澳洲。樹幹通直，高可達高40m，雖然是瓶幹樹屬植物，但本種樹幹並不會膨大。葉片變化極大；幼樹披針形；成樹掌狀裂葉，有3~7裂。圓錐花序，鈴鐺形花紅色，花朵小。在原產地落葉後開花，開花繁盛整樹火紅，因此有火焰木之稱。蓇葖果黑色。種子如玉米粒大小，外果皮有絨毛，內果皮黃色。

A deciduous tree in the genus Brachychiton, native to Australia. Unlike other Brachychiton species with swollen trunks, this variety produces a straight trunk up to 40 m in height. Leaves vary greatly; saplings produce lanceolate leaves which turn palmately-lobed with 3 to 7 lobes when mature. Panicles, bell-shaped flowers red and tiny; blooming after deciduous in the original places. The whole tree looks like in fire when fully blooming, so it’s also known as Flame Tree. Follicles black. Seeds like corn kernels in size, exocarp fluffy and endocarp yellow.

全日照溫暖環境，高溫潮濕可促進生長，但要開花繁盛必須有乾燥期刺激。繁殖使用播種法。

It grows in full-sun and warm environments and thrives best in high temperature and humidity, but if flourish flowering is desired, it needs dry stimulant prior to anthesis. Propagated by seeds.

樹形高聳直立，適合庭園種植或行道樹使用。樹皮纖維韌性強，澳洲原住民用來織網編繩。木材質輕易加工，可作為手工藝品與勞作材料。種子去毛後可以煮食。

The tree is tall and upright, suitable for the use as garden trees or street trees. The bark fibers are strong and used by Australian aboriginals to weave nets and ropes. The wood is light in weight and easily processed, and can be used to make handicrafts. The seeds can be used in cooking after removing the fluff.
