樟屬常綠喬木，原產南亞、東南亞至中國華南各省。樹皮灰褐色至黑褐色，內皮紅色，氣味像肉桂。小枝紅色。葉薄革質卵圓形至披針形，互生或近對生，葉面綠色光亮，葉背淺綠色。圓錐花序自近枝端的葉腋伸出，花白色或白綠色。核果長橢圓形，成熟紫黑色。

An evergreen tree in the genus Cinnamomum, native to South Asia, Southeast Asia and South China. Bark gray-brown to dark brown, the inner layer with a cinnamon-like scent. Twigs red. Leaves thin leathery, oval to lanceolate, alternate or nearly opposite, upper surface green and shiny, and pale green below. Panicles protruding from leaf axils near the branch tips, flowers white or white-green. Drupe oblong, ripe purple-black.

適合全日照或半日照溫暖環境，幼株有較強的耐陰性。高濕度環境可以促進生長，根系不耐積水。每季施用一次長效性肥料。修剪以樹冠內的細弱枝為主。繁殖可用播種、扦插、空中壓條法。

It suitably grows in warm, full or partial-sun environments. The saplings are more tolerant to shade. High humidity can promote the growth; the root system can’t withstand stagnant water. Apply long-active fertilizers once a season. Trimming off mainly the weak branches within the crown. Propagated by sowing, cuttings, and air layering.

可作庭園景觀樹、種子小森林小品盆栽、行道樹。木材紋理通直容易加工，可作為建材與製作各種家具、器具與工藝品。

It can be used as a garden landscape tree, small seed bonsai plant, and street tree. The straight-grained wood is easy to process and can be used as material of construction, furniture, appliances and crafts.
