柑橘屬常綠喬木，園藝栽培種。葡萄柚發現於加勒比海的島國巴貝多，是甜橙與柚子的雜交種。具多數分枝，嫩枝細長有稜、有刺。互生的單身複葉橢圓形，翼葉小。花白色，具濃郁香味，叢生長於葉腋或總狀長於枝端。果扁球形，光滑，熟時綠色。

An evergreen tree in the genus Citrus, found in Barbados, an island country in the Caribbean. This is horticultural cultivar and a hybrid of sweet orange and pomelo. Much branched, shoots slender with ribs and thorns. Leaves alternate, unifoliate compound, oval, with small winged petioles. Flowers white and richly fragrant, clumped on the leaf axils or arranged in racemes longer than the branch tips. Fruits flat spherical, smooth, and turning green when ripe.

日照需充足，對土壤要求不嚴，但以富含有機質之砂質壤土為佳，排水需良好，在年平均氣溫18℃以上山區生長良好。以種子、扦插或嫁接繁殖。

The tree grows well in sunny conditions; not picky on soils, but preferring well-drained sandy loam rich in organic matter. Propagated by seeds, cuttings or grafting.

可作庭園樹、種子小森林小品盆栽、盆栽果樹。果可鮮食或製成果汁及果醬。本種果實風味甜美，較其他葡萄柚較無酸、苦的味道。

It can be used as a garden tree, a small seed bonsai plant and a potted fruit tree. The fruit can be eaten raw fresh or made into juice and jam. This fruit variety tastes sweet and less sour but bitter than other grapefruits.
