老樂柱屬多肉植物，原產秘魯。植株從基部分枝成灌木狀，高1~2m。莖表面灰綠色，有18~25道稜，中刺黃色，側刺40~50支，被有5~7cm長的濃密灰白色絨毛。全株像蒼蒼白髮，外形奇特，尤其在開花位置的絨毛特別長。鐘形白色花，花徑5~6cm。

A succulent plant native to Peru. The branches are diverged from the base to form shrubs, 1~2m in height. The surface of the stem is gray-green, with 18 to 25 ribs, with one yellow central spine and 40 to 50 radial spines, coated with thick grayish fluff 5 to 7 cm long. The whole plant is pale white with a peculiar shape, especially the fluff in the flowering position is particularly long. Bell-shaped white flower, 5~6 cm in diameter.

栽培：全日照通風環境下可生長良好，日照充足時可促進開花，炎夏時切勿讓植株曝曬，以免產生日燒等曬傷跡象，為了防止爛根等情形，種植時需採用排水、透氣的介質。因為植株佈滿棉毛，不宜種植於淋雨處與塵土、風沙較多的位置，以免沾染土沙而影響美觀。

The plant enjoys full sun and ventilated environments. Sufficient sunshine can promote flowering, but direct exposure in hot summer will cause sunburn. Planted in well-drained and breathable medium soil to prevent roots from rotting. Because the whole plant is covered with linters, it is not suitable to be planted in locations directly exposed to the rains, dust, and sand which would contaminate the plant and affect the appearance.
