木犀屬常綠灌木或喬木，原產中國西南部各省。樹高2~5m，主幹直，分枝的角度較小。對生革質橢圓形葉片，葉長7~15cm，葉寬3~5cm，葉緣有鋸齒或全緣。聚繖花序簇生或帚狀生於葉腋，花冠4裂，花色白、乳黃、黃、橘紅等色，花徑0.3~0.8cm，花香濃郁。黑色果實橢圓形，直徑約1cm。園藝品種罕見結果。

An evergreen shrub or tree in the genus Osmanthus, native to southwest China. Tree height 2-5m, trunk erect with narrow-angled branches. Leaves opposite, leathery, elliptical, 7-15 cm long and 3-5 cm wide, with serrated or entire margin. Cymes clustered or broom-shaped occurring on the leaf axil, corolla 4-lobed, colored white, milk yellow, yellow, orange and red, flowers 0.3-0.8 cm across, with rich fragrance. Fruit black and oval, about 1 cm across. Horticultural cultivars rarely produce fruits.

適合全日照或半日照溫暖或冷涼環境，高濕度可以促進生長。介質需排水良好，以肥沃的壤土或砂質壤土為宜。介質乾就須澆水。每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。繁殖使用扦插及嫁接法。

It suitably grows in a warm or cold environment with full sun or partial sun; high humidity can promote the growth. Well-drained, fertile loam or sandy loams are preferred. Water the medium to keep it moist at all time. Apply long-active compound fertilizers once a season. Propagated by cuttings and grafting.

花朵香味濃郁，適合種植於建築物周圍或庭園、道路、步道旁，提供綠意與花香。花朵可以作為食材與窨茶使用，可提煉精油作為香水等工業原料。

They are suitably planted around buildings, in gardens, roadsides, and walkways to provide greening and rich fragrance. The flowers are used as food ingredients and material of scented tea; the essential oil extracted from the flowers are used as materials for making perfume and other products.
