常綠喬木，原產中國華南各省至中南半島、南亞等地。主幹直立，分枝角度較狹小，樹冠圓錐形。芽、嫩枝及嫩葉有毛。互生橢圓形葉，葉緣波浪狀，葉背有毛。花黃色。開花期5~10月，結果期9~11月。

An evergreen tree in the genus Magnolia, native to South China to the Indo-China Peninsula and South Asia. Trunk erect, branches narrow-angled, and crown conical. Shoots, twigs and young leaves are hairy. Leaves alternate and oval-shaped, margin undulate and hairy on leaf underside. Flowers yellow, open from May to October, and fruiting from September to November.

適合全日照且溫暖環境，濕度高有助於生長發育。土壤過於肥沃易使植株枝葉過於旺盛，反而影響開花，因此肥料須適量使用。繁殖採用播種法與空中壓條法。

The plant grows in full sun and warm environments and thrives in high humidity. Overusing fertilizers will cause the branches and leaves to grow exuberantly as a result, to inhibit the flowering, so adequate use of fertilizers is advised. Reproduced from seeds and air layering.

花朵芳香怡人，可摘下隨身配戴或置於水盤中聞香，亦可加工提取香精作為香水原料。株型較玉蘭花窄小，適合居家庭院或公園綠地的步道旁種植，讓來往人們嗅聞花香。

Valued for the fragrant and flowers, people often wear them as a scented accessory, or place them in a water tray to enjoy the scent; or processed to extract the essence as perfume material. The plant is compact in size comparing with White champak, suitably planted in private courtyards or along park trails for people to enjoy the fragrance.
