花屬落葉或常綠灌木，原產玻利維亞。株高1.5~3m，枝條長伸或四散生長，株形較散亂。互生二回羽狀複葉，長8~15cm、寬約5cm，歪披針形小葉7~9對，長2~4cm、寬0.7~1.5cm。頭狀花序自枝端及近枝端的葉腋伸出，花絲紅色，亦有白色品種。花絲長約4~5㎝，花序直徑6~8cm。開花期秋至春季。

A deciduous or evergreen shrub in the genus Calliandra, native to Bolivia. Plant height 1.5-3m, branches elongating and spreading, relatively scattered in shape. Leaves alternate, bi-pinnately compound, 8-15 cm long and 5 cm wide, leaflets in 7-9 pairs, crooked lanceolate, 2-4 cm long and 0.7-1.5 cm wide. Head, flowers protruding from the leaf axils near or at the branch tips. Filaments red about 4-5 cm long, white varieties also available, flowers 6-8 cm across. Flowering from autumn to spring.

合全日照溫暖環境，冬季低溫期或有落葉休眠現象。植株枝條開展，需要較大的生長空間。介質需排水良好且深厚。介質乾就澆水，春至秋季每季施用一次長效性肥料。過度長伸的枝條可以修剪，以控制株形。凋萎的花序應立即摘除，以免影響美觀。繁殖使用扦插與空中壓條法。

The plant thrives in a warm environment in full sunshine, occasionally deciduous and dormant in harsh winter. With spreading branches, it requires more space for growth. The medium needs to be well drained and deep and to water the medium when it is dry. Apply a long-active fertilizer once a season from spring to autumn. Prune the elongated branches to control plant shape. Withered flowers should be removed immediately to keep the desirable look. Propagated by cuttings and air layering.
