文殊蘭屬多年生草本，臺灣原生，廣佈於東亞亞熱帶至熱帶濱海地區。具有圓柱形球莖。葉基部抱莖，長線形葉，葉肉肥厚，撕裂有絲棉狀物，葉緣波狀。頂生繖形花序，由20~50朵花組成，花白色，具清香味。蒴果近球形，通常頂端具突出喙，有海綿組織，可漂浮於水面，藉由海水傳播繁殖。

A perennial herb in the genus Crinum, native to Taiwan and widely distributed in East Asia subtropical to tropical coastal areas. With cylindrical bulbs.
