露兜樹屬常綠灌木，原產東南亞。常從莖幹長出支柱根以支撐樹幹；莖直立或成彎曲匍匐狀，少分枝。葉叢生枝端作螺旋狀排列；帶狀劍形或狹披針形葉，先端漸尖，末端偶具細鋸齒緣或細刺緣，兩面平滑無毛，被淡粉白色，葉片有芋頭芳香味。罕見開花。

An evergreen shrub in the genus Pandanus, native to Southeast Asia. Aerial roots often grown from the stem to support the trunk; stems erect or warty, rarely branched. Leaves tufted from the branch apex, spirally arranged; banded sword-like or narrow lanceolate in shape, apex acuminate, margin occasionally with fine serrations or fine thorns, smooth and glabrous on both leaf surfaces, pale white, with taro-like scent. Rarely flowering.

In South and Southeast Asia, they are widely used as food ingredients, and the leaf juice is used as a drink, dessert, or to add taro flavor to the rice. Its medicinal uses include producing saliva and quenching thirst, moistening lungs and phlegm, clearing heat and dampness, relieving hangover and cough.
