非洲凌霄屬落葉木質藤本，原產非洲。以長伸的枝條攀掛於支持物上，四散下垂生長，蔓長可達5m。對生羽狀複葉；長卵形小葉5~13枚，長3~4cm，低溫期會落葉。頂生圓錐花序；粉紅色花冠鐘形5裂，喉部有毛，有淡雅的香味。開花期夏至秋季。在臺灣栽培罕見結果。

A deciduous woody vine in the genus Podranea, native to Africa. The plant climbs on support objects by the drooping long stems which can reach up to 5m long. Leaves opposite, pinnate compound; 5 to 13 long ovate leaflets, 3 to 4 cm long, and deciduous during cold periods. Terminal panicles; pink corolla shaped campanulate with 5 lobes, hairy on the throat, lightly fragrant. Flowering from summer to autumn. Rarely fruiting if cultivated in Taiwan.

全日照溫暖環境，介質須排水良好，春、夏季充足供水以促進枝條生長，春至秋每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。冬季落葉期可修剪雜亂與長伸的枝條以控制植株大小。繁殖使用扦插、壓條、空中壓條法。

The plant grows well in full sun and warm environments and prefers soils with good drainage. Water regularly in spring and summer to promote the shoot growth, and apply long-term compound fertilizers once every season from spring to autumn. Remove cluttered and overlong branches to keep the desirable plant size during deciduous period in winter. Propagated by cuttings, layering, and air layering.

適合盆栽、籬笆、花架種植，下垂的枝條有柔美的姿態。初期枝條不具攀附能力，要用人工繫綁固定。枝條較脆，栽培位置要避免於風強處。如果修剪控制枝條長度，也可以作為灌木使用。市售盆栽多經過矮化劑處理，但隨藥劑失效後，枝條便會迅速伸長。
