馬齒莧屬常綠灌木，原產非洲南部。莖肉質，紫褐色至淺褐色，新枝在陽光充足的條件下為紫紅色。對生肉質倒卵形葉，表面光亮。花單出、簇生或圓錐花序，簇生於葉腋，花小淡粉色。蒴果漿果狀，粉紅色。

An evergreen shrub in the genus Portulacaria, native to southern Africa. Stems fleshy, purple-brown to light brown, new branches purple-red in sunny conditions. Leaves obovate, fleshy, upper surface glossy. Flowers solitary, clustered or panicles axillary, flowers tiny and pink. Capsule berry-like and pink.

喜溫暖乾燥和陽光充足的環境，耐乾旱和半陰，不耐溼，也不耐寒。夏季高溫時須注意通風。喜疏鬆肥沃、排水性良好的砂質土壤。耐旱性強，做室內窗邊盆栽時澆水不用太頻繁，約一週兩次即可。扦插繁殖為主。

Best grown in a warm, dry and sunny environment; tolerant to drought and semi-shade but sensitive to dampness and cold. Beware the ventilation conditions during high summer. Loose and fertile sandy soils with good drainage are preferred. With good drought tolerance, water the plant less frequently, 1-2 times a week, if displayed in indoor window sills. Mainly propagated by cuttings.

可作庭園景觀樹、盆栽、盆景等、小品盆栽。常見葉片有白斑的斑葉品種，園藝名稱為雅樂之舞。
