福祿桐屬常綠灌木或喬木，原產東南亞，葉片橢圓狀披針形，園藝栽培多是圓葉且有斑紋的品種。互生單葉或一至二回奇數羽狀複葉，對生圓形、橢圓形、小葉3~7片，葉緣有淺鋸齒。繖形花序自近枝端的葉腋伸出，綠色花微小，不具觀賞性。

An evergreen shrub or tree in the genus Polyscias, native to Southeast Asia. It has elliptical lanceolate leaves, while most cultivars have round leaves with stripes. Alternate single leaf, or odd bipinnate or tripinnate compound leaves with 3-7 opposite, round and elliptic leaflets with serrated margins. Umbels protrude from leaf axils close to the end of branches. Green flowers are tiny and not ornamental.

半日照與全日照環境，不耐旱，介質即需要澆水，若太過乾燥容易發生葉片黃化而落葉。栽培介質需排水良好，若排水不良容易引起莖腐病，造成葉片黃化凋落、枝幹腐爛枯萎。每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。繁殖使用扦插法。

Grown in partial shade and full-sun environment. Not drought tolerant, so water whenever needed, or the leaves will turn yellowed and shed. Poor drainage of soil will cause stem rotting, foliage yellowing and falling, also branch rotting and withering. Apply long-active compound fertilizers once every season. Propagated by cuttings.

生長強健且枝葉茂密、樹形優美，被花商賦予吉祥名稱而成為受歡迎的盆栽。常作為大型盆栽，用在小庭院或室內綠化使用。戶外栽培可多株種植為灌叢或列植為綠籬。

A vigorous tree with dense foliage, beautiful tree shape as well as with an auspicious name given by florists, so it becomes a popular potted plant. Often planted in a large pot and displayed in a small courtyard or for the purpose of indoor greening. For outdoor cultivation, it can be planted in clusters as shrubs or in rows as hedges.
