葉片特化成紅色的Red Leea火筒樹園藝品種。火筒樹是由於樹幹中的髓心軟，很容易挖孔製作吹灶火用的火筒而得名。葉面是橄欖綠，枝、嫩葉、葉背等部位則是深紫紅色，逆光欣賞時紅豔美麗，佈置在庭園中作為顏色搭配用，有很好的襯托效果。別看它樹木的樣子，實際上卻和葡萄是同一科植物。夏季來典藏植物園有機會看到開花，微小的花朵結構與葡萄近似。

Red Leea is a horticultural variety with leaves specializing to red. It’s named “Fire tube tree” in Chinese because it is easily drill a hole in the soft pith in the trunk and used to make as a fire tube for the stove. The leaf surface is olive green, while the branches, young leaves, and leaf backs are dark purple-red. It turns stunningly red when viewed against the light, a great choice to display in a garden for color matching and complementary effect. Despite the tree-like appearance, it is actually under the same family as grapes. In summer, welcome to the Taipei Collectible Botanical Garden to appreciate the tiny blossoms which are similar to grapes.

火筒樹屬常綠灌木，是火筒樹的園藝品種。枝、嫩葉、葉背、花序等部位深紫紅色。有發達托葉，互生2-3回奇數複葉，橢圓形至倒卵形小葉對生，葉緣不規則鋸齒。葉暗紫褐或綠褐色。腋生聚繖花序，桃紅至紅紫色花5瓣，果實紫色，成熟轉為暗紅色。開花期夏季，結果期秋至冬季。

An evergreen shrub cultivar in the genus Leea. It grows dark purple branches, young leaves, leaf backs and inflorescences. It has well-grown stipules, alternate and odd bipinnate or tripinnate compound leaves, elliptic to obovate leaflets oppositely arranged, irregularly serrated on leaf margin.The leaves are dark purple brown or greenish brown. Axillary cymose develops pink to red-purple flowers with 5 petals. Fruits are purple and ripen to dark red. Flowering in summer, and fruiting from autumn to winter.

半日照或全日照溫暖環境，樹蔭或牆邊等有遮蔭位置栽培葉色更美艷。每季施用一次長效性綜合肥料。葉片凋落的老化枝條可以整枝剪除，以促進萌發新枝。繁殖使用播種、扦插法。

Grown in partial shade or full-sun warm environment. Planted in shady locations like tree shades or near a wall can get better results of foliage variegation. Apply long-active compound fertilizers once every season. Bare old branches should be removed to promote the growth of new shoots. Propagated by seeding and cuttings.

樹形姿態扶疏有致，是葉色特殊觀葉植物，可以列植或叢植於庭院中，或用盆栽種植擺放於室內窗邊，能接受散射陽光處。

The ornamental plant is valued for its elegant shape, dense crown and unique-colored foliage. Suitable for row or cluster planting in a courtyard and as an indoor potted plant next to window with scattered sunlight.
