福祿桐屬常綠灌木，原產於印度、馬來西亞、波里尼西亞。莖直立多分枝，側枝細長。互生奇數羽狀複葉；小葉呈羽狀細裂，先端銳尖，基部漸狹，鋸齒葉緣，葉面濃綠。頂生繖形花序，花淡綠白色。核果圓形，熟時由綠轉黃色。種子扁平。

An evergreen shrub in the genus Polyscias, native to India, Malaysia, and Polynesia. Stems erect and much branched, lateral branches slender. Oddly pinnate compound leaves alternate; leaflets pinnately fissured, apex acute, base narrowing, with serrated leaf margins, and surface green.Umbels terminal, flowers pale green and white. Drupe is rounded and turns from green to yellow when ripe. Seeds flat.

全日照、半日照均可生長良好，但以半日照有明亮散射光的環境下生長較旺盛。光照不足易造成莖葉徒長。對光線劇烈變化非常敏感，故移至室內時要先經過馴化。喜高溫環境，室內窗邊溫暖且通風良好處最適合擺置。以種子或扦插繁殖。

The plant normally grows in full sun and partial sun conditions, but thrives better in partial sun environments with bright scattered light; the stems and leaves will grow overlong if lacking of sunlight. Highly sensitive to drastic changes in light, so it has to be domesticated before relocating indoors. Fond of warm environments, best placed in warm and airy indoor window sills. Grown from seeds or cuttings.

可作庭園景觀樹、大型室內盆栽或小品盆栽、水陸缸的主景植物。

It can be planted as a garden ornamental tree, in a large container or small pot indoors well as a feature plant in a paludarium.
