姬孔雀屬多肉植物，原產墨西哥。附生性仙人掌，以根攀附樹幹、岩石上。細長柔軟的圓柱狀莖下垂，直徑1~2cm，7~12條稜。刺座白色密集，每一刺座有9~20支紅棕色至黃色毛狀刺，刺長0.4~0.5cm。花紅色至紫紅色，長5~8cm，花徑0.5~4cm，每朵壽命3~5天，春季開花。

A succulent of the genus Disocactus, native to Mexico. An epiphytic cactus with roots climbing on tree trunks or rocks. 栽培：全日照通風環境下可生長良好，日照充足時可促進開花，日照不足容易徒長軟弱。需採用排水透氣的介質。高溫期生長，介質乾燥就澆水；冬季避免淋雨並留意積水，要讓介質維持在較乾燥狀態。老莖上的刺變棕色時會減損觀賞價值，應進行修剪以促進新生莖生長並恢復美觀。

It grows well with full sun and good ventilation. Sufficient sun exposure can promote flowering while a lack of sun will make the plant grow spindle and weak. Draining and breathable soil is required. Water when the soil is dried in warm growing season, while keep the soil dry and away from rain and avoid water logging in winter. Trim off the brownish spines on old stems to help new stems growth and restore the ornamental value.
