懸鉤子屬常綠或落葉蔓狀灌木，臺灣特有種。全株匍匐於地面生長；莖延伸甚長，莖節處常能生根，無鉤刺，具有多數分枝，幼嫩部分被有細毛。圓形或心形葉，表面有毛茸，背面光滑。花單生腋出，少數亦有成對生長者；白色花瓣5枚。聚合果，近球形，成熟後橙紅色。

An evergreen or deciduous creeping shrub in the genus Rubus, endemic to Taiwan. The whole plant prostrate on the ground; stems long, often rooting at the nodes, without prickles, richly bifurcated, tender shoots covered with fine trichomes. Leaves round or heart-shaped, fluffy on the upper side, glabrous and smooth beneath. Flowers solitary, axillary, rarely in pairs; 5 white petals. Aggregate fruit, nearly spherical, orange-red when ripe.

喜冷涼向陽地，原生於全島海拔1800m以上之山地，常成群蔓生於路旁、斜坡或向陽之裸露地。以種子或扦插繁殖。

Easily grown in cold and sunny lands, native to 1800m or higher elevations of the island. The plants often grow and creep in groups on roadsides, slopes, or sun-facing clearings. Propagated by seeds or cuttings.

於高冷地可作為地被植物。果實美味，可生食亦可製蜜餞或果汁，果可誘鳥。

The plant can be grown as groundcover in alpine regions. The fruit is tasty, eaten fresh or made into candied fruit or fruit juice, also used to allure birds.
