舖地蜈蚣屬常綠灌木，臺灣特有種。莖匍匐平貼於地面蔓生，嫩枝有毛茸。卵形至倒披針形或闊橢圓形革質葉，先端鈍、圓或凹頭，基部鈍或楔狀銳尖，葉緣略向內反捲。花單生；花萼筒鐘形，有毛茸；花瓣白色。果為鮮紅色的漿果，橢圓形，先端有殘存的花萼筒。

An evergreen shrub in the genus Cotoneaster, endemic to Taiwan. Stems prostrate on the ground, shoots hairy. Leaves oval to oblanceolate or broadly elliptic, leathery, apex obtuse, rounded, or concave, base obtuse or cuneate, acuminate, leaf margin slightly inwardly curled. Flowers solitary; calyx tube campanulate and fluffy; petals white. The fruit is bright red berries, oval, with residual calyx tube at the apex.

喜冷涼氣候，全日照或半日照，耐寒、耐旱、耐風、耐貧瘠。以種子或扦插繁殖。

The plant grows best in cold, full sun or partial sun conditions and is tolerant to cold, drought, wind and barren. Propagated by seeds or cuttings.

產於臺灣中央山脈與玉山等山區，生長於海拔2300~3500m向陽的草地或裸露岩礫地或岩壁上。可應用於高冷地作庭園地被植物或於石景懸垂造景。果實可入藥。

It grows on the sunny grassland, bare rock gravel or rock wall at an altitude of 2300-3500 m in the Central Mountains and Yushan Mountains of Taiwan. It’s an ideal plant grown in alpine regions as garden groundcover or a hanging plant in stone landscapes. The fruit can be used as medicine.
