景天屬多年生草本，臺灣特有種，零星分佈於中央山脈中部以北的中高海拔山區。莖紅褐色，基部匍匐生長，有突起的腺點。肉質匙形葉互生，長0.5~1cm，寬0.3~0.5cm。穗狀聚繖花序頂生，黃色花瓣5枚，開花期夏季。

A perennial herb in the genus Sedum, endemic to Taiwan, scattered in the middle and high altitude mountains north of the Central Mountain range. Stems reddish-brown, base prostrate, gland protruding. Leaves fleshy, spatulate in shape, alternate, 0.5-1cm long and 0.3-0.5cm wide. Spike-shaped cymes terminal, with 5 yellow petals, open in summer.

全日照冷涼環境，生長於林緣或道路旁的石壁上。介質需排水良好。扦插或播種繁殖。

The plant thrives in full sun and cool environment and grows on the edge of woodland and stone walls on the roadside. Well-drained medium is preferred. Propagated by cuttings or seeds.

臺灣原生景天屬植物有20餘種，分佈濱海至高山地區，呈現物種豐富度。能高佛甲草是中高海拔分佈的種類，在開花時提供昆蟲採蜜，具有生態價值。

More than 20 native species of the genus Sedum are found from coastal areas to high mountains in Taiwan, which exhibits the abundance of the species. This particular plant grows at medium and high altitudinal areas; the fact it provides nectar to attract pollinating insects during anthesis period is of ecological value.
