腎蕨屬多年生草本，原產熱帶美洲、大洋洲及非洲。具許多走莖，走莖先端向四方伸展接觸介質後會長出叢生芽，無膨大之貯水塊根。葉叢生，呈淡綠色，自根莖上長出，二回羽狀複葉，葉柄短；小羽片披針形，有明顯波緣，厚紙質。波士頓腎蕨不會產生孢子。

A perennial herb of the genus Nephrolepis, native to tropical America, Oceania and Africa. Stolons are plenty and produce tufted offsets when the apex of stolons creep and penetrate the soils, absence of swollen water-storing root tubers. Leaves clustered, pale green, growing from the stolon, bi-pinnately compound, petiole short; leaflet lanceolate, with obvious wavy margin, thick and papery. This particular fern does not produce spores.

具有很強的適應能力，能忍受貧瘠。適宜在土質鬆散、有肥力、腐殖質豐富、透氣性好及排水通暢的中性或微酸性土壤中生長。喜歡溫暖，不能抵禦寒冷。主要在3~9月期間生長，適宜溫度是15~25℃。冬天要將植株搬進房間裡過冬，溫度控制在10~15℃便可順利過冬。以分株繁殖。

Cultivation: The hardy plant is tolerant to barrenness and thrives in neutral or slightly acidic medium with loose, breathable and fertile soils with rich humus and good drainage; not cold-tolerant, growing from March and September, temperature controlled around 15-25°C. Move the plants indoors in winter and control the temperature 10-15°C to overwinter. Reproduced by ramets.

可做庭園景觀植物、小品盆栽、吊盆、組合盆栽、造園假山岩壁點綴植物。葉片是良好的插花材料。

It can be used as a decorated plant in garden landscape and artificial rock gardens, or planted in single pots, mixed pots or hanging baskets. The fronds are commonly used for flower arrangement.
